My friend is very slight and skinny, and was out hunting on his pony over christmas. they jumped everything and then attemped a 5 barred gate. pony misjudged the height and sort of fell over it and from what i can gather it landed on part of its rider. the rider is my friend, and he was taken to hospital immadiatly.
He has a torn liver, and a broken pelvis and not sure about his leg. he had to get it pinned in the royal hospital - he is only 15. please send good vibes for him to get better :(

Think he is stable but that is about all i have heard - will let you know more after the pc party on fri nite as his brother will be there. the sad thing is as well is that 2 or 3 years ago at the same time roughly his dad died. tough christmas for them :( without his accident.

Bunce, go away or send good vibes to the boy. you're attitude is not helpful - I seem to remember that people got killed in eventing?? so stop being so high and mighty- everyone can have accidents.

AND FOR YOUR INFORMATION IT WAS A DRAG HUNT AS IT WAS A CHILDERNS MEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SO P**S OFF IF YOU HAVE NOTHING NICE TO SAY!!

Sending the poor lad loads of healing vibes. My friend had a torn liver some years ago when her horse stood on her. She had a large proportion of the liver removed, but it does regrow. It was a long haul but she did make a full recovery.

pony was ok i think it just bruised itself on the gate as it landed half on him and the rest on the mud. it walked away sound i think if a little shocked.

hes doing a little better now, as his operation was successful
but he is still not out of danger yet, with the pinned hip bone and torn liver, havent heard yet on the ruptured bladder :(

thanks for all (not bunce) your kind words

My friend has come home from hospital today, but it will be a while before he is well again and even walking, which will be a huge blow for him anyway to sit at home - he was on the uk pony club games team last year that went to america for most of the summer to compete internationally.

Yes, best of luck.

A young lad out with us couple of seasons ago had an horrendous fall with his pony coming over on top of him, tearing one of his lungs badly. We had the antis out that day too: the only intervention they made all day long was to stop the ambulance.
