Went for a lesson today, took both ponies as poor Meg hasn't been anywhere for ages. Got her ready, got on & started walking round the school while we waited for Paul. Suddenly huge commotion from my trailer, which was parked next to the school, hurried across, jumped off Meg & found Kizzy had somehow got both front legs over the chest bar, somehow the partition was all bent with her stuck on top of it, caught by her left stifle. Luckily the muscly male groom came running over, he was so brave, almost crawling under Kizzy to try & free her, thank God I've got bungee safety ties in the trailer or she would have hanged herself! Somehow using superhuman strength, bearing in mind he had the weight of the pony on it, the groom managed to free the partition, & suddenly Kizzy was upright. I led her out, she was very shaken, me too! She's scraped below her stifle, & it's very bruised, but apart from being a bit unlevel, she seems ok, unlike my trailer which looks like a bomb hit it. I did my lesson on Meg, then after some brute force from Paul with a sledgehammer, the partition was reparied with string & rehung. Thank goodness she seems ok, & fairly bounced up the ramp for the return journey. Going to recheck leg later, & see if we need the vet. I'd been looking forward to today for ages & gutted it all went so wrong, silly mare has stood on the trailer lots of times, but obviously not today!! Going to take that groom a very large bottle of wine.
