Horrible lump on neck!

Its the weekend and I found a lump on the back of my lab's neck. What on earth is it? vet Monday!! Its red, inflamed, about the size of A 20P COIN, with a greyish centre.The area is slightly hard. I cleaned away some dried blood and I keep looking at it! It also seems a bit wet.

It sounds as though it may be an infected area that is reaching the surface to drain but don't take my word for it because I obviously haven't seen it.

Has your dog had any puncture wounds around the neck from an attack or play fighting?
