Went to get a horse out of the field that didn't want to be caught - he ran up to a mare who promptly span and double barrelled him....I couldn't see where she kicked him but he seemed to be ok - then he moved.....

He dragged his back leg behind him and I honestly thought his time was up - 10 mins later he trotting back around sound as a pound and still refusing to be caught!

Seriously thought he'd received leg finishing kick but she must have got him on the rump....

Makes you realise how delicate they are in the scheme of things....

True.... I went out to see my horse one day and he was not terribly badly lame. Still lame though so I went over to a friend to get some help. When we came back he was putting no weight at all on the leg. We thought at one point he had dislocated his stifle. We decided to leave him for a bit to go and talk to the vet. By the time we came back with what it might be he was fine.

I can't tell you how much! My old horse broke his leg and had to be shot and when his back leg went I nearly vomited.

Clearly no good in a crisis!
