I picked Twister out as A 3 year old as the creme of the crop at the first Brightwells SJ sale and was really surprised when he made only £10,000. However, when I saw that Penny Cornish had bought him I knew my judgement wasn't too far off which was a relief :-)

What was even more extradordinary was that Twister's 2 year old full sister made only £6000 at the same sale, probably becuase of the stupid chestnut mare prejudice. Someone had a real bargain there :-)

He was gelded in 2004 - apparently, for behavioural reasons.

This might explain why in the photos I found of him on the internet he was wearing a muzzle that wouldn't look out of place on Hannibal Lector! Very interesting. Apparently Papillon Rouge line are reputed to have difficult temperament

I've recently sold a very nice 7yo mare by Hors La Loi, called Underworld. She was sold to a young rider in Greece. She is only 15.2 and dainty but so much scope! Very quirky and a bit of a madam but very talented. I used to work for Lynne Bevan and she quailifed her for the Winter Novice final at Hickstead and she has foxhunter double clears. Think a lot of his offspring have amazing jumps, but quirky buggers!

Hello
I have a hors la loi as well, a 6 yr old thats doing the 140 and is outstanding!!! What I can tell you about the stallion himself is that he is now a gelding, because he was terrible as a stallion, mean. Last time I hear Hugo Simon is riding him and doing great.
Best regards Frida (Sweden, www.tallbackagard.se)
