They have had what you call a soft opening, the actual grand opening is this weekend. According to Horizon there will be prize draws etc. It is the same weekend that R&B are holding their sale which starts at 9.30 Sat. I think most of our yard are doing both.
The new store is anything that comes under the Weatherbeta badge ie Roma, Dublin. Mark Todd, I did not see any other rugs but Mark Todd & Weatherbeta, no Shires, Masta. Saw nothing from Cottage Craft either. I was talking to someone who said it is because it is a Franchise associated with Weatherbeta, seems it is quiet common out in Australia. Riding Hats & Body Protectors come in the normal range.
Do check out the Foxwood though, I noticed a shirt in there that was exactly the same as the Dublin shirt, but because it was labelled Foxwood, was cheaper! They also have a Roma tack box that is identical to another box with no branding. I think at least one sales member needs some further training. Tried to sell a body protector that was too long for a friends daughter. Prices are ok though, just not a lot of selection on brands. Someone at R&B told me that their loyalty scheme is worth more, but I dont know what the Horsatack one if offering.
I have been put off getting anything like a body protector or hat from there now. First I got told by someone they were trying to sell a BP that was too long for the little girl. Now this evening one of the women were telling me her colleague had to take her Champion hat back because it was too big. When she went back to change it, it took 2 of them and hour to help her find one that fitted! I think for anything like that I will stick for R&B.
