Im sure you have all seen many a good and many bad adverts our there, and id really hope you could help me make the " perfect " advert!

I will not say the breed/age/height/location of the horse in question so that the mods know im not doing this as a way of advertising.

Please bear with me, il give as much info as possible - but trey to keep it to the point!

I ride for a friend. I was asked to bring on this young horse.

When I started riding him he was a bit rushy and tense - but quickly calmed down and progressed through the training stages with ease. He's a VERY fast learner and simplt loves being ridden.

IMO he is perfect in every way.... I cant fault him. I also cant afford a horse - other wise we wouldnt have this problem!

However, he acts differently when other riders get on him... Its the strangest thing! His owner is of a similar weight to me, albeit she is taller. She is an experience rider and doesnt appear to do anything differnt from me. When she gets on him he tenses up and become a bit "prancy". A lady came out to try him and he did this with her too. I immediatly get back on him and hes realxed and behaving perfectly.

My friend wants to sell him as she feels too tall for him. He has relaxed with her a few times and shes hacked him without him becoming prancy, but still doesnt seem to click with him.

I dont know how to word this in an advert? We want him to go to a wonderful home, as far as im concerened hes a perfectly behaved gentleman... but someone may come try him and he wont be!

I hate the phrase " not novice ride" as it can make the horse sound like a nutter- which hes not!

Also what other things do you like to hear/see in an advert and its pics?

Thanks so much for reading all that! :D

I'm not great with these :)

Why not read some ads and get some ideas? Not plagurise you understand :D

Thanks for your reply! We had an advert running, all the usual terms, but only a couple of responses :( and only one out to try him - who he compltelty played up with when she got went near him!

Why not get some other people to ride him to help him become less tense with new people. When they ride suggest at first they perhaps just walk him on a loose rein, then shorten reins, then loose rein again .... ie build his confidence.

For some horses a new person riding them can be just like having to lean another language, so by recruiting other people to help will possibly give him a better chance of a successful new life.

Then you can write what you like in the advert.
