I am thinking about putting my horse on loan or sale (although I don't think he will sell, hence why I would be happy to loan him out).
I haven't started to advertise him yet and would just like some feedback as to whether you think that anyone would actually be interested - at the end of the day, he would be a nice hack for an experienced rider.
He is 16.3 and only 12 years old but has got osteo-arthritis in his coffin joints in both front legs. This means that he can only currently be ridden in walk, but in the future may be able to trot and very occasionally have a little canter out on a hack. He is a little bit spooky, but apart from that, he is lovely to handle and easy to do. He just needs bringing back into work (which we have started to do) and be given time and have everything taken slowly. He would come with a full wardrobe and homes would be vetted. He could even be used as a companion horse but doesn't like being left on his own (slight issue!).
I have a newborn baby and just don't have the time or the funds for him anymore which is really upsetting and this is such a heartbreaking decision.
So, does anyone think that people might be interested? I'm not in a rush to get rid of him as I love him to bits and would only want him to go to the right home. Can you tell me where the best places to advertise him are, considering that he isn't available as a proper ridden / dressage horse?
Please don't suggest putting him to sleep as this is not an option - I am not desperate to get rid of him and will just keep him as a companion if there wouldn't be any interest.
