Bought a filly recently, without passport - yes I know I know, no morals please! Cheap as chips and got her scanned by vet. Microchip was indeed found and her details are on Nedline so one assumes she did have a passport after all. Have trawled the Internet for her full name + checked all stolen horse registers I could find and so far haven't found her on any of them, thankfully.
What's the next step - is there a way to directly contact former owners via Nedline or must one go through the PIO. Never had this before. Haven't had her long and won't get attached until I know she can be legally mine!!
Edited to Add: her stable name on sale is similar to her reg name so obviously something that has passed with her. She is just under 2 years old.
