Does anyone know of any good horse painters is Kent? I really want a painting done of my horse but dont jknow where to look. Also, can I see paintings of your horse if you have any :) Would be particuarly helpful if it was one done by the person you are recommending :D
 
I'm not sure where the artist who did my horse is from but I just sent her a photo. It is so good I showed OH who barely knows one end of a horse from another and he said how amazing it was to find a picture that just looked like Ellie!

I am really pleased with it and am getting the other ponies done too.
 
Judy Goodman who is based near Tunbridge Wells is fantastic, she did a fabulous portrait of my horse in pastels at the beginning of this year. She also does oil paintings.

Obviously this is a photo of the painting so there is some reflection from the flash off the glass but I was so pleased with the finished painting, I could even point out tiny details on my bridle which I thought only I could see!
 
wow her paintings are amazing! how do I get in touch with her other than ringing, I'm one of those wimpy people who hates talking to strangers on the phone :o
 
You can email her off the link on her website I think but she really is lovely and very human, just give her a call. She was great with me, I didn't know what I wanted or how much it was going to cost and she was really helpful.

I'm in Cheshire, and I only do pencil drawings right now ;)
But MrsElle - thank you! :D It makes me very happy when people like their drawings enough to 'show them off' :p
 
I have used a lady called Christa Hook several times, she's based in East Sussex & samples of her work can be seen on her website at www.christahook.co.uk.

She has already painted 5 of my past horses & is currently doing pictures of my last horse & a friend's dog for me.

All my paintings have been fantastic, she always manages to catch the personality within the picture
 
Can PM you if you like - I'm not fabulous at painting yet (probably as I don't do it so often!) so don't strictly speaking offer them as commissions, but can try work something out?
Bonus is that I still charge fairly little as I don't consider myself 'professional enough' to charge more, especially when I'm not 110% what the results will be :o
 
I do horse portraits :D I'm not in Kent but not far from there and would happily do a picture from photos if that's easier for you. (I am also not very expensive as I only do this as a sideline to my day job so don't have to make a living out of it).

Oohhh now I have to choose! I'm rubbish at choosing :o maybe ill be greedy and have a pencil drawing AND painting if I'm rich enough :rolleyes:

I found this forum and this thread searching through internet, and I see that you have shared some links to websites of horse painters in the Kent area. I hope it will not be found intrusive if I add one more for those of you who might still be interested.
