Unfortunately I am now having to consider this option for selling my horse, what should I expect? Have never been to one before myself. Also can anyone recommend auctions in the south area?
There's one every month at Reading. Well run, but with the market the way it is, many go for meat. I believe that the auctioneers will allow sellers to exclude meat buyers, but I don't know how you can be completely sure. Can be better to get them to Potters yourself, so as to make sure they're not messed about at the end.
My horse is a 17h 10yo Irish Sports Horse, would be willing to travel to a sale further afield that may be better suited to his type if anyone has any suggestions?
Is there any reason you're looking only at auctions? There's a website called NFED which may get a better/more suitable home for your horse and you can add a picture.
