Horse Auctions online

Personally I would not buy a horse that way. What does it say about the care of the owner selling like that? No real interest in the horse's future home/ owner.

Also look at Ponies, first pony jumping that high with no boots :eek:

I am sure it would suit some people but not for me.

I dont think its all bad, would be useful for people needing to sell quickly and not wanting to deal with potential timewasters. as for buying one off there- never say never. I know a few people who have had to send much loved family horses and ponies to market as needed a quick sale due to finances, so this could be an alternative to that.

Someone else tried it a few years ago but Trading Standards closed it down.
TBH, I think it could catch on. In the current economic climate, when people really do HAVE to have their horse sold by a definate deadline, then it could prove a lifesaver for them.

There's no location search so that will stop a lot of people from bidding as I can't really see someone buying a horse from the other end of the Country to them as they'd want to try it, unless it made a pittance

TBH I`m on the fence a little.
At least you get to view and try the horse where as at a real auction you can see it but thats about it.... sometimes people need to sell a horse asap, doesnt mean they dont care for them, it`s just generally a quicker way.
Horses also have a starting bid so it`s not like they`ll be going for pittance.

For the buyer, it`s not a wasted journey!
I`ve been to a few sales after looking at catalogues and when seeing the horse have been disappointed! 17hh hunters turn out to be 15hh gypsy cobs lol ( i don't have anything against cobs BTW)

It may take off it may not....there is another bigger worldwide auction site, cant remember what site it is though,
