Okay, so got 4 y/o back from vets tonight as he slept there last night.

Vet diagnosed susspensory's (sp?) in both hind so has given him steroid injections with a 50/50 chance they work. Has 3 weeks off then back into work for 2, if not happy after 2 then opt for opp.

In opp they would cut the nerves, with 80% success.

Hopefully it won't come to opp so fingers crossed steroids do the job!

Is this suspensory desmitis? High or low?

Personally I would not go for the operation as the horse has age on its side and I think time is the best thing for this to be honest. If the vet is suggesting such a short period of rest then to start ridden work again that would indicate to me they don't feel the issue is too severe.

However, if it were me, and being that it's cold, dark and miserable most of the time at this time of year, I would be inclined to give the horse a bit longer off and resume work again in the spring. That's just me though!

Is the horse that the physio diagnosed as having his pelvis 'out'?

I too would not go with the surgery I'm afraid. And agree with Lady25 about giving the horse time.
