Hi

New here!

Can anyone recommend a place to send my youngster for backing? Pref Northumberland, but would consider as far as Scottish Borders, Cumbria down to North Yorks.

Needs to be someone experienced, patient and kind but firm, as horse is a sharp nervous type who takes her confidence from her handler.

Hi,
I sent mine to James Hunton in Stockton. Lovely sympathetic lightweight rider. They treat the breakers as individuals and as though they were their own. He is mainly known for showing (HOYS level) but don't let that put you off if you are anti-showing (as a lot of people are!).
Mine went last winter and I paid £70 a week for her (inc full livery!)It may have gone up but probs not a lot - brill value for money from a lovely rider and bloke - can't praise him higly enough.
Get in quick if you want to send yours as qualifiers haven't started yet so James is at home more before the shows really kick off.
PM me if you want his number or google BSPS area 3a as he is on the committee.

Hi,

We do lots of starters each year and are based between York and Harrogate, with easy access from the A1. Nervous/ sharp horses are a speciality!

The website is www.gallabarfarm.com if you'd to have a look; pm me if you like
