We all know the type, horse constantly kicking at the floor every one tuts and thinks what bad behaviour etc

Well I am now one of those owners. And its driving me nuts. Where she if fet she had dug a hole basically.

I don't think its an attention thing, I think its habit/vice. She does it even when shes given a haynet. She doesnt seem to do it when ridden, but I havent really asked much of her yet just pottered about the field. I can be out of sight and all I can hear is bang bang bang. I stand next to her and she does the the same. All the time shes on grass its OK as im not worried about her hurting her self, but surely this cant be good for a horse on concrete?

Doesnt do it stood in the field so I dont think theres something wrong with her hoof if that makes sense?

Any tips would be so grateful?

My boy bangs the door loudly if he's left by himself in his stable, but only when there's activity on the yard. He was on box rest this past week after hock injections and it reminded me how loud he can be. Thankfully the YO assured me that once everyone had gone, he settled down ok.

I don't get cross with my boy as I know he has separation anxiety caused by past neglect, and I try and divert him with a feed or a haynet. It usually works, but the only surefire method of preventing it is ensuring he's never alone. His is definitely a habit ..... I don't like to call it a vice but I guess it is.
