Hey,

Im just wondering what beaches are in the South East to take the horses to?
Also do we have to inform someone that were coming etc?
Infoo pleasee :D xx

i think you can ride at West Wittering but Im not sure. I really want to go, where are you based maybe we could sneak on it together!! hee hee!!

West wittering, Ferring or Climping beach you can ride on but check tides times and restrictions. Camber sands is nice too but the best is Holkham beach is miles away but worth it :)

Camber sands in East Sussex is probably not too far from Brighton. It's about 30 minutes from Hastings if that is any help to you. Failing that there are other beaches such as Dymchurch(at the moment though it is having alot of work done so loads of big machinery there) or Greatstone beach. Both of those are in Kent but not too much further than Camber sands. If you do go to Camber it is best to get in touch with the local council and they will be able to explain any relevant information you need. For instance I know that they only allow horseboxes in the central carpark and there are time restrictions in the summer months but it is miles of decent sand to ride along and well worth the visit.

West Wittering beach you can ride on all winter without restrictions or telling anyone. In summer I think the general rule is to be off the beach by 10am and you can ride after 6pm in the evening.

Hayling Island beach offers the same thing, but Wittering beach is much nicer and allows for a long canter.

Not sure where to park a lorry at witterings though. Call Cakeham Stables, they are right on the seafront and may let you park the lorry there!

Camber sands is my local beach and very popular for horses, you can ride anytime from October to march and park in the central car park. End of March to end sept it is only before 8.30am and after 7.30 you only want to go when the tide is out especially in summer as it gets packed with people and they all want to take your photo and pat the horse, but really good for long canters.
