I'm ashamed to be Irish these days. There are so many horrific equine stories in the news these days. There are some great charities trying their very best to help them. This morning the photo of the little foal pawing at its dead mother reduced me to tears. So I went and made a donation to try to help

I saw this in the news last week and was so horrified that I started a petition to the Government to do several things: _

1) To make the horse passport system workable
2) To make fly grazing illegal
3) To ensure that any owner (who should be traceable through the horse passport system) accountable and punished for any mistreatment to their animal.

I am sick to my back teeth of hearing about horses being beaten to death, set alight drowned and sulky racers being driven into cars ....what is WRONG with people ???

PLEASE sign and share this petition with as many as you can ...we have had 9000 signatures since Tuesday - so LOTS of folks feel very strongly about this......

I've signed. However, I think it will only be responsible owners who have their horses passported/microchipped/freezemarked and, very sadly, those who don't give a damn, will continue doing just what they do now....absolutely nothing! Nevertheless, we can but try and hope that, one day, we'll succeed! I sincerely hope so.
