Hi
Horse has be kicked in the field today - a big hoof print on his bottom on the muscle and several small superficial cuts on the lower legs/cannon bones. He was very stiff when I found him but loosened up with walking and cold hosing though wouldn't trot. Its the kick to the bottom that seems to be causing the pain. He's had some pain relief and an hour or so later will trot inhand a little stiff but willing. Just wondering how long I should give him off work - he is out so walking around. Ive, luckily, never had this problem before and don't know how cautious I should be. Once he is sound in hand should I start some gentle exercise or is it better to give some extended time off?
