I backed my horse last Summer and she has been turned away since September/October, last Summer she wasn't at all bolshy, just a bit full of herself!

For the past couple of months she's started to get, i don't want to use the word bolshy, maybe cheeky is the word? She lives out so i only know of it happening in the field, but when she gets in my space when poo pickeing etc, i push her away (so she knows she's not the boss), instead of turning away she kind of just tries to jump on you, or she rears at you and tries to nip... I don't know if she's just trying to 'play' and get rid of all her energy... but she's not getting any smaller and it does get a bit scary sometimes :(

Anyone think it's naughtiness or just trying to play?

Sounds like a bit of both Game Bird. Even if just play, it should be nipped in the bud now before it develops into naughtiness then sheer domination games. Not good.
Hope you are soon able to sort her out.
Teg :)

Doesn't matter which, she need to stop. Sounds like she needs to learn to respect your personal space - I think you need to remind her of her manners! If she tried that on with another horse she'd soon get told off. I'm sure she'll learn quickly that it's not acceptable behaviour. :)
