Horse bit advice please

I currently ride tont in a simple eggbutt snaffle. He works well in this bit, but occasionally he just ignores it, and wont stop for quite a few strides. I just feel like i'd like a bit more control, as I don't want to be hanging off his mouth to get him to stop, but I don't want a really harsh bit.

Does anyone have any ideas about what might suit him?

what about the hanging cheek snaffle not too harsh but just adds a little more pressure

Hi

You could try a hanging cheek snaffle, gives a bit of poll pressure which should help with brakes!!
