hi
i have a horse
my brother has a board

we were thinking we could put it together but i want to ask some important questions first.

how do i teach my horse that its ok?
how long do you make the rope? and should it have anything special about it to prevent probs?
best surface?

btw please dont worry as my brother does downhill biking and rock climbing and kite boarding and is a bit a nutter so this is probably the safest thing hes done in a while i just want to make sure my horse is ok :):)

Are you on Facebook..?? If so look up and like Little Rebels Ranch. That girl does it with her stallion not only on snow but surfing in the sea and mountain boarding too. Her name is Pam and she lovely and I'm sure she can answer your questions. Also she has heaps of Albums on the page with photos of him doing it. Hope that helps.

We are hoping to do this at some point as my husband has a board and I have Big Pony.
I would suggest good flat grassland for your first attempt. Firm enough to keep moving on but soft enough to bail out on should the need arise. A cycle helmet/riding hat and knee elbow pads may be worth using for the first few runs too.
Is your horse the trusting, get on with it type or is he currently spooky and nervous of things? You definitely need the former for this and bring it in gently. I would suggest first time you have someone just walk and jog behind him, then introduce the harness, then induce pressure to the harness, etc. Break it down into component parts and once your horse is happy at each step add the next one.
What sort of harness attachment are you looking at, this is where our experiments have fallen down to date?

Not sure how you attach to the horse bit hard to see. If you work out how it attaches let me know :)
