I might sound really thick here but how do you get a water supply in a horsebox for the sink? and whats even more confusing how do you get hot water???? what items do you need???
Yep - they usually have a water tank under the sink which has a pump attached which feeds the water tap in the lorry. The water can either be heated by boiler or by passing it through a heated filament before it comes out of the tap.
It depends how much water you want. In my little lorry I just have a gallon bottle which the pump fits into as I only use it for washing up etc, I heat the water with the kettle.
In the big lorry we had a 60 litre tank, bigger water pump and a water heater, we also had a sink, shower, sink in the loo, and a horse shower - so needed a bigger tank.
We paid £50 for the water tank, and £225 for the water heater, the human shower taps were £80! This was about 2 years ago though.
You'll also need a leisure battery to power the pump and gas to fuel the heater.
Hmmm..... So me and OH are going looking at a smallish box later this week. The living hasnt been done yet so as long as we can fit them in we were thinking of putting sink, hob and fridge. Not really that bothered about hot water now as it seems quite expensive and complicated for a small box???
Am i right in thinking we would need some kind of leisure battery to run the lights, fridge and water pump and then a gas bottle for the hob???? Sorry am being really blonde but ive never had a box and not really spent anytime in them!!!
Yes, you'll need a leisure battery and gas. You want a 3 way fridge - 1 that runs off your battery as you drive (you'll need an adapter to have it charging off your lorry engine when you drive) and runs off gas when you are at a show - you don't want it on the battery as it'll probably only last about an hour. It can also be plugged into the mains. These are about £350 new. The sink with a hob will be c£125
I like this and was going to buy one for my little lorry as I could take it out when I didn't need it Portable fridge and it runs on gas and electric.
