I am moving from Lincs to Argyll in Scotland and i need to Hire a horse box.. self drive.. what is the largest i can hire with a car licence. is it better/ cheaper to get a transport company to do the move or do it yourself.

any links to good companies etc would be great thank.. lol or any offers of a lift would be even better!

Thanks

surely if it was self drive..you would drive there...then back...then go up again...

lot of effort for me

Well the reason we are doing it ourselves is that we thought we could put some of our belonging in the lorry as well.. It normally takes us about 7hrs to do the drive by car including stops so we recon it would take us about 9-10hrs by lorry..(or is that completly wrong ) Dont really want to trust a transport company.. or can you travel with the company as a passenger?

Some of them would be happy to carry a passenger, and all the associated horsey stuff too. You should be able to trust all the carriers on this particular website, they are all approved. Not on that list (I think) but one I would also recommend is eric gillie

again lots of companies here!

If you book the right company you will be able to travel on board as well as some as your stuff-but don't expect the transporter to do all the moving for you!!!

If you are doing an individual load expect to pay more!

A shared load for that distance is around £350 and that only takes the horse!

If you are seriously wanting to travel and a load of your stuff then look for an individual load
