Horse Brandmarks

Hi

I've recently got a horse on loan 16.1 grey mare who has 2 brandings on either side of her neck 'BK' on one side & '02' on the other, i presuming 02 is the year she was born in as shes 6 this year, does anyone have any idea what BK stands for? i've tried googling with no success and her passport is just a BHS one..

What Breed? If you contact the relevant breed society they should be able to help you.

No idea, Dam and Sire are unknown, her owners bought her from a dealer who said she was from Romania?! she looks like a warm blood type though!

I'd imagine that the BK stands for the stud farm she was born on.
