My 15 year old skewbald was born wild on Bodmin Moor in Cornwall, and I know very little about his breeding, except he was out of a spotted mare, and by a big roan horse, mainly TB but with a dollop of Shire in him, and called Red Cloud.

If anyone knows anything about Red Cloud, I would love to hear it, please get in touch.

Sorry I havent got anything useful to say except I've got a Bodmin pony too!!!!!! She's 14,2hh pure white (when she's not been in the mud) with grey spots

Would love to see a photo of your boy (especially as he's coloured!)

LOL at MFH_09!! I was only there for a while!

To OP - try pming Zebedee, Bonzabean and Rema - they may be able to help!! I don't think that there's anyone horsey in Cornwall that Zebs doesn't know!!!

I'll ask around about Red Cloud, but I've never heard of him. I'm also pretty certain that genetically speaking getting a skewbald from a cross between a spotted & a roan isn't possible. How long have you had your horse & where did you get him from? There are a couple of people I could ask but the more info you can provide the better.
