Hello everyone, I am helping a friend look for a horse and we have found a 5-year old that sounds suitable, and is currently being trained at a very professional yard. However, he was sent to a chriopracter (who is also a vet) because his pelvis didn't look right and he has sorted him out. He is seeing the chiro again (two weeks after the first treatment), so far seems to be going very well and will only be up for sale if he gets the all clear.
Would that be the kind of thing that should put us right off, ie something that could cause concern in the future? Of course he would be fully vetted etc... and we will also be taking an instructor along when we try him (I am an experience horse owner but no professional!) but I just thought I'd ask for your opinions on this one... Thanks in advance!

IMO, if the chiro gives him the all clear, and he passes a 5 stage vetting I wouldn't be put off buying him. BUT i would make sure that the horse sees a chiropractor/physio every 6 months.

I wouldn't touch him. Pelvic problems, in my experience, recur if the horse works hard - hunts, jumps, hills, high level dressage. There are tons of good horses around at good prices right now and I would buy one who hasn't already had to see a chiro for a wonky pelvis at five years old.
