horse calmers

Can anyone recomend a good herbal calmer for a very nervous rescue pony please. I am doing all the normal basic handling but he is so nervous and tense due to being badly treated in the past that i would like to try a calmer to see if it helps at all. thanks

I have tried loads of calmers. If you are not competing try AnxiKalm Liquid. Have heard good stuff about it. Going to be trying this one when my stress head comes back in at night at the end of the month. My favourite at the moment until I use that one is Global Herbs Staycalm. Everyone has different results with different calmers. Unfortunately looks like trial and error in most cases although this can be a costly exercise. Good luck

I have used Global Herbs Supercalm in the past with great success as it works quickly.

You could also try Rescue Remedy on treats/ in his water bucket.

Thanks will give it a try. He is such a nervous little thing, I would like to help him if I can. It has not helped that his best friend had to be put to sleep a month ago.

My mare was exactly the same, dodsen & horrell placid was the best. and its 100% herbs, she didnt like the taste at first but a few feeds with apple juice and she eats it now
