Thank you everyone for your advise/comments. He is much better today, walking about in his confined area quite area though the swelling is still giving me concerns. Plan of action is bute and rest til Monday and vet will come back and give him another check. Have everything crossed and am happier that he seems recovered from the mental trauma, just need to hope no soft tissue damage. Bought a Hayeez yesterday (like a Haybar but £15 cheaper) hubby installed it and though viewed initially with great suspicion by the injured one, was deemed ok once he realised it dispensed hay easier and quicker than a net! Would highly recommend and my bed had no hay left in it this morning. Thanks again to you all, will keep you posted.
