Put Bella out today and she went straight over to where the chicken coop is by the fence in part of the field, and started to chew the corner of the roof of it, which is that rubber felting stuff. Went into field and picked alot up from the ground, and she went off and didn't do it again when we were there, but she's got a fair bit off and i don't want her to do it anymore incase it harms her or damages the chicken house. She doesn't chew anything else like wood etc that i know of, and she doesn't crib bite either, so i don't know why she's doing it.
Is it harmful to her and is there anything i can do to stop her doing it?
thanks (:

It was suggested to me as the best way to stop my youngster from taking chunks out of his stable just coz he could, tried it and it worked and no ill effects. Only does it now occassionly when I come onto the yard and it's well past time to be put out (in his opinon anyway :D )

Put a short run of electric fencing round it, complete with battery. After a day or two you'll be able to ditch the battery as ned will respect the tape on its own. Or for a longer term solution, start a hawthorn/holly hedge round it to discourage neds.
