Ok so i ride this pony for someone, i dont loan it or pay anythink for the pony, i just ride it
Lately she has started coughing not all the time but she will cough once and then cough 4-5 more times one after the other but then that will be it for a good couple of hours. I have started (since yesterday) soaking her hay, i no you should anyway but when i dont ride the owner has her.

As i soaked her hay last night she has coughed once today and then it followed by 3-4 little ones and then that was it. The only thing i can think of is her her hay being dry or the riding arena is very dusty with this sun! To help out it sounds really dry?

I dont work or nothing so i cant buy anything for her and i dont no what her owner will do but is there any home remedies i can make to help her? I thought with humans we make up a warm honey and lemon drink kind of thing, could i do that with her??

I think you should speak to her owner and tell her about the cough. it takes much more to make a horse cough than a human, so by the time a horse is coughing there is usually a problem. Soaking the hay is a good idea but i the horse stabled at all? If so, on what bedding? and neighbouring stables? Good management is vital and she may also need a supplement to help the lungs and even a vets visit if she carries on- so you do need to speak to the owner.
