I'm afraid your budget is way out tbh. Think about it for a minute. A dealer is in business, sourcing nice types that he can see a market for. A nice little cob that's jumping 1m is worth way more than £1000. Well the horse can command a lot more, so he won't be selling it to you within that budget. You might be able to get something with a few issues in a private sale, or at a horse fair, so perhaps try that.

Not sure where all the private sales are? It dosnt have to be a cob but if it comes with a few issues I don't mind. The reason I don't have a huge budget is because I'm budgeting keeping it and also buying everything it might need. I see a lot of ponies that can jump going on for about £1000 so I was just looking to see if anyone knew any dealers that had some ponies for sale

Try donedeal.

But take someone experienced with you - if you come to yard and appear a novice rider then you'll be taken for a ride tbh. At least experienced person can help head rule heart :p

I can give you links to some excellent dealers in Ireland, honest, reliable and keen to match rider to horse etc.....but for £1,000, not a chance. :(

If, as you say, you see a lot of ponies going for this sort of money that can jump then perhaps answer the ads and go and see what they are offering?

Mrs Jingle is right OP. You see dealers have to make a living and they do that by trying to buy cheaply and then putting work into the pony and selling at a mark-up. So your price doesn't leave any room, in fact most dealers would be buying for in excess of that price to start with, because any nice quality pony can make much more.

Done deal is your best bet but you definitely will need some experienced person to come with you so you don't get saddled with a problem horse. That's the advantage of a reputable dealer, they will look after you and see you right but you pay for that in the price of the pony.
