horse destruction

Hardly anyone can speak/read English here so they'll never know i'm not reading a terribly adult book. Good/bad, either way it'll be far better than reading Jaipur Times or India today.

Queeny, then your paddock is far bigger than was described by your daughter, at times people are quick to shout, troll, but with the description given, I cannot blame anyone this time to jumping to that conclusion !!!!

However, many horses are kept happily on their own, your mare seems desperate for horsey company, which to me at least, is why she is calling to him.

Can you get a companion?

I was getting a bit worried there.... I thought a "herris panel" was some new EU measurement the news of which ahd not yet reached Africa. We measure in metres, but 57 600 square feet sounds more than one-sixteenth of a horse needs, really ;)

Sounds to me too like the mare would like some company and Queeny, if you're reading this, the people on here are really good with advice and information, but you can't blame them for wondering if it was a wind up when you say you're keeping a horse on a patch that size! I thought the same to be honest! How was anyone to know a child had made the original post? Everything on here is taken at face value or the next obvious conclusion, in this case that it was a wind up. Don't take offence and leave the forum, just give more accurate and detailed information and you will find the forum a great resource, just like the rest of us. It's nothing personal, promise. :)

Guessing you're either a) a troll or b) very very novice?

She's probably either hungery (is she getting enough hay since there will be no grass) or, more likely, lonely and bored. Horses are very sociable animals and need other horses for company (there's always the off few oddballs who don't) and she's breaking in with the other horse because she desperately wants a friend (male or female is irrelevant).

I think it's a case of a bored and hungry troll!!

Not sure if this is genuine or not, but for the sake of the horse if it does exist, I'd like to clarify the basics for queeny and mum.

First of all, horses are herd animals. They belong in a herd, not individually with no contact.

Secondly, not sure what size the paddock/field the horse is in at the mo, but as a rough guide, there should be (by the book) around an acre per horse or at least as much land as possible!

Also, the fencing is far from ideal - could this be replaced with post and rails, or at least temporary electric fence until something else is arranged?

You also need to take a worming programme into account.

It might be benificial for you both to go on a stable management course??

I hope the OP and her mum come back as this forum is a useful resource, and there are people who know what they are talking about
OP - Just ignore posters who don't answer your questions and don't get upset about it.

we have a small 16th of a acre (small i knw) but there is only building site fence seperating her from a gelding, and today she has smashed a large majority of the fence down ( i think trying to get to the male) and trying to distruct other things :

- could it be, my horse wanting to mate with the male or just because she sees him every day but wants to be with him...

but previously she was in a feild (for about 3 months) with a yearling they were close but there was no mating.... can some one tell me what i can do??????? or if any of these surgestions i have mentioned may be a cause or a build up xx

replys ASAP !!!!!!

my daughter came on here today to ask a sensible question to get a sensible answer, instead she has been referenced to a troll,

the people on here are really good with advice and information, but you can't blame them for wondering if it was a wind up when you say you're keeping a horse on a patch that size!

I'm sorry you're upset Queeny, but you let an unsupervised young child use your identity on here and the result in my view was not a sensible question as you say. If you didn't know a child had written it, it's actually a very bizarre post!

It's really not surprising people thought it was a wind up, as bikerchick says. This forum is excellent for really good advice so if I were you I'd stick around. :)
