Horse dies at Cheshire Show

There was a post about it in the new lounge. Initial thoughts were that it broke its neck, but apparently it was a heart attack. At least it was quick either way.
I was there, but didn't see it fortunately.

I saw it, I was at the other side of the ring though. From where I was it appeared not to take off and landed on the fence. The rider was naturally devastated but the horse was obviously beyond help - it was very, very quick. I thought the organisers did an incredible job of concealing and removing the horse without delay. The vet was there within moments and the horse was quickly driven away in the horse ambulance. No doubt the post-mortem was speedily done to confirm the cause of death which was unavoidable and going to happen at some point.
