So I have a 15.0hh/15.1hh Welsh D who will never get fat in her life - Shes a looong pony ;) Infact we have to keep feeding her up to put weight onto her!!
She is in a 6'6" Amigo rugs and others though depending on brand they can come up short on the bum. Now her exercise sheet size should be 4'6" BUT i'm worried that it's going to be huge?! On other threads i have read that people have their 16.2 warmbloods in 4'6" sheets! :P I need an exercise rug before winter because she's going to be hunter clipped and out hacking every day if possible to keep her fit as have noo school. D:

Thoughts? Thankies ^-^

My 15.3 TB wore 6'3 rugs and his sheet was 4'6 which fitted perfectly.
My 16.2 Id x wears 6'9 and I bought a 4'11 (Horseware weird sizes!) and it's fine

One of mine is a 6ft3 in Horseware rugs and she has a size large (4ft11 - I think) HW Newmarket wraparound one. It's a smidge too big, but not enough to cause an issue. I would expect that it would fit fine on a horse that takes 6ft6 rugs.

That's only a 'guide'. My grey is in 5ft9 rugs and she fits the HW 4ft7 (I think that's the measurement for the medium), 3ft9 would be too small for her large derriere. :p

It also depends if you want the exercise sheet to end at the tail root (so part of their buttocks stick out the back), or if you want more coverage.

Thanks, So i could go with 6ft 3 rug size exercise sheets possibly.. Don't mind if part of her bum is sticking out as would be trotting for like 30mins straight but she has a HUGE bum and walks like a supermodel from behind - wobbling back and forth it's hilarious xD

Why don't you pop her saddle on and measure from where you want the sheet to start in front of the saddle, to where you want it to end at her hindquarters?

I would measure or try one on if anyone on your yard has one hanging about. Normal rug size has to take into account shoulder width too. I have had the same exercise sheet for years and it has fitted 3 different horses and they all wore different rug sizes ranging from 5'9" (Skinny no shoulders) to current girl 6'6" (massive shoulders!)
