horse failed vetting with ocd

hi i had a horse vetted and we found out he has ocd in his hocks.he is only four and had planned on having him for BYEH and lots of little things this year.i am absalutley gutted as really like him,have got really upset over this.any advice please on what to do x

If you really like him it might be worth seeing if they would reduce the price, but please keep in mind that you are setting yourself up for a lot of (uninsured) heartbreak down the road. Personally I would just be pleased you got him vetted and continue on your search..

My homebred has it, its a nightmare!!!!
If I were you I would leave well alone. Mine is off for op next week and could be an ornament for rest of life. Gutting as had high hopes for him. I wouldn't wish this on anyone.
 
Having been through billateral stifle OCD (a nightmare which lasted 2 years with a bad conclusion) I think you are lucky to have found out now. I appreciate you are disappointed, but at least he is not your horse, you have not put any work into him and you have not bonded with him.

Look for something else...
 
As others have said I think you have the option of a lucky escape. hard as it may sound now you will find another horse without OCD so I would, I'm afraid, steer clear of this one.

having nursed my beloved filly through OCD and surgery I wouldn't want anyone to have to go through it if they didn't have to.
