I’m looking for reviews on the Dengie cool, condition and shine as well as the calm and condition. I have in the past been feeding my horse the top spec grass and top spec balancer but recently switched him on to the Dengie Cool condition & shine as well as calm and condition and he’s become quite hot/tense and spooky 3 days after we started to feed him it. It states slow release energy, has anyone else’s horses become a bit sharp on it? We have taken him off it now as a mix of that and the spring grass hasn’t done him any good, how long does it take to usually come out of their system? I’m due to go to a stay away show next week and the thought of it is making me very anxious with the way he is at the moment! 😂

He is a fit showjumping horse in moderate/heavy work

Calm and Condition sends my horse completely off his rocker! He gets really sharp and spooky, on the ground, as well as under saddle.
Took him a few days to come down after the last time he had it

Calm and condition is a competition level feed as it provides both quick and slow release energy. The "calm" bit refers to it not having barley or molasses. It does have a fair bit of starch , which provides quick release energy, so that may not be suiting your horse.
I used to feed it all the time,.even on box rest when horse was dropping weight , without problems but it may not suit your horse.

Calm and condition made mine loopy too. Why have you changed his feed? Micronised linseed worked well for mine to add condition.

This is so interesting, mine is great on calm and condition but awful on Alfalfa and top spec balancer. Sounds like it doesn’t suit but they usually improve within a few days of it being removed from their diet (Thank goodness!)

I got given a horse described as sharp and tense, and the owners had always fed it calm and condition. we changed it'd diet here to high fibre high oil, and oily herbs, and it's a different horse. it's totally changed temperament

He dropped quite a bit of weight traveling and just overall didn’t look great, and he was also quite flat and needed a little more energy but this has just made him wild!

I’d say grass is the best remedy, but you could add grass nuts to his balancer.
