hi, i have a shetland pony who is yrs old,
he hasnt got access to grass so he is on
hay all year round ( Its not my fault he isnt on grass)
he has a small handfull of pony nuts and a few carrots
and a ball with some pony nuts in, I DO understand he is a shetland
and he can live on barely next to nothing
but i just wanted to know if there is any hard feed i should be giving him to give him the vitimins n stuff he needs? ??
he currently is learning to drive and is starting going out in the cart a couple times a week, and he jumps inhand at shows, he lunges, and he goes out 4 a walk, and soon he will be having some of that ready grass as he isnt on grass
is there anything else he shud b fed to help him with the minerals n stuff he needs ? ? ? pls ? Xx

They only lick them when they are in need of the minerals they contain.

What salt lick does he have?

I find the cheap Rockies' licks very good, they do a few different types and different horses favour different licks, it might be worth trying him on a few if you are worried he isn't getting sufficient minerals from his diet. I have found the yellow tends to be the most popular with the horses I have come across
