Got home from work to find paddock in a total mess and skid marks everywhere - horse is normally so well behaved out in the field so have no idea what caused this. The paddock is pretty tiny and she was only it because we topped the big field yesterday so wanted to give it a day or two before she went back out in it.

Got her in to ride her and got on. She felt incredibly strange almost as though she's got a flat tyre and that there is no power from behind at all. She's normally pretty forward going and I felt as though no matter how hard I kicked, she just didn't want to go. We had a little trot and that felt awful too so we came home. I can only assume she's tweaked something in her back because we trotted her up and she seems totally sound. Although her back doesn't react at all when you palpate it.

I've given her some bute and chucked her back out in the big field next to her mate so she should be pretty chilled out. I was going to leave her out till the weekend and give her some bute and then reassess. Obviously if no better then I'll get physio out.

Would anyone do anything different? Or know what I mean about the flat tyre feeling? Just hope to god its something simple as we are currently rehabbing her check ligament injury and its been going really well. Bloody horses!!
