I've taken my mare out of work for the last 5 weeks because of her wolf teeth, as she stared rearing when taking off her bridle..... But finally there coming out today :) :)

How long after having them out should I leave her until I can start to lightly back again ( only just been backed anyway)

Ask the vet about timeings but it would be roughly a week - however, as she is only a baby I would give her a good 10 days off. No need to rush these things.

Sorry i forgot to answer the timing bit- I wouldn't know as my mare had the abscess (huge hole under behind jaw bone)- so she was off months off.

As McNaughty says no hurry :)

I'm just too excited to crack on & start riding, but I will give her over a week off :) will have to anyway as our whole yard is like a building site, so no where to ride unless you wana hack out. :/

There are wolf teeth - and then there are wolf teeth with HUGE roots that take a lot of digging! If they have small roots and come out easily, 4-5 days is plenty. If they have HUGE roots and reduce the vet to a sweaty pile of exhaustion, then 2 weeks would be better!

Agree with Janet. Our 9 year old has a huge wolf tooth which causes her no bother at all but, as a precaution, we have the wolf teeth removed from all our babies prior to backing them; if they are not there, they can't cause a problem. If there are no problems, a week should be the minimum before bitting your horse again but, as you have issues with her mouth, I would make sure that she is properly healed before starting again.

still waiting to find out
:) vet isent even here yet was meant to be here at 8 had too emergencies so should be here any minute hopefully :)
