My First Aid Kit is sinilar to those already mentioned however I aslo keep ice packs in it...the type that you snap the file inside & give a shake to...they give instant ice pack for about 20-30 minutes. They are around 70p each & worth every penny.

The kit stays on the yard unless we take the lad out in the traile & it accompanies him.

god damn!! i have those too! good job i'm actually gonna go the yard today!! i'm gonna sort out my first aid box so i know exactly what i've got!!......i totally agree tho the ice pack things might be a bugger to pop but are brilliant!! i also have the heat ones and welly warmers! but they are for me!!

Digital thermometer - available in a chemist, very cheap and vital bit of kit (check your horses temp when healthy over a period of a couple of days to get a "normal" reading and then you'll know if ever they have a temperature). Don't forget the cheap stuff like surgical spirit, hydrogen peroxide, epsom salts, plastic syringes for flushing things out of orrifices and nappies (excellent poultices) and I swear by green oil get for minor grazes, stops dirt getting in. Keep main kit at yard but also have essentials in my competition box which travels with us and also carry wound washes in there as may not have access to sterile water when out and about.
