I have seen a mare for sale, ten years old. She is currently not backed as she has been used as a brood mare. Thinking of buying her to back and use as a hack.
The owner has told me she has a thickened hock from where she was kicked as a youngster. She is not lame and gallops round the paddock the current owner, who has had her for approx five years states she has never had any problems or lameness.
Do you think this old injury would cause her any problems being backed and ridden?
Does anyone else have a horse with this type of injury that they ride?
If I have her vetted how would the vet record this injury?
