Horse Freezemarked, do I need to send passport off to be updated?

O.K. horse is being freezemarked on Friday, will I need to send my passport off for it to be updated, or can I just add the details to it? Doesn't seem to given any info on passport regarding updating it, other than for change of owner.

My vet put the details in my mares BHS passport and initialled it. For my dutch horse I sent of the freezemark papers to NRPS (Dutch passport issuing people) when i sent the passport in for the the ownership details to be changed and they did not add it in so i am giong to ask my vet to do this one as well. Don't know what the legal position is for this though.

I had to send mine off to the relevant breed society for mine, if that helps
