Hi

Please can I have some recommendations for some nice horse friendly beaches in East Anglia? I have heard of Holkham which looks lovely but wondered about any others? We are in Bedfordshire so closest (!!) to there as possible would be great! Also we would probably be there over night, so accomodation help also appreciated, even if just a field so horses can graze and we can have tents!

Thanks

Heacham and Old Hunstanton are another two, probably out of season only though, you'd have to check local authority. I have a feeling Old Hunstanton may be ok but not Hunstanton itself for horses.

Oh god!! I went to one and there is a golf course that you have to cross to get to the beach and I have no idea what it was called!! It really was wonderful though, my first and only experience on a beach but was really really great

Will try and find out where it was for you!

I have been to this one! I cant remember what it is called now but there is some lovely accomodation down the road where we stayed and an arena you can use if you want to and some individual paddocks for turnout.
Fab beach for a blast and a swim. Ahhh - what was it called????

Holkham is a fab beach and there are farms etc nearby that offer overnight livery etc for horses. As far as I know horse access to the beach is year round (big sand beach - just check the tides properly). I think the Hunstanton beaches are more strictly controlled and are pebble beaches - would suggest you contact the tourist information for Wells next to the Sea which will give you info Holkham.
