Any ideas of country pubs in Northumberland, Durham or North Yorkshire where you can tie up a couple of horses and have lunch...have visited a couple of in Cumbria but yet to find any closer to home...

Never went as far as lunch but often stop for drinks at the Keel Row, Seaton Delaval.
A friend had lunch with the horse at the Beehive, Earsdon. Horse held on a leadrope but its busy there on sunny days so would depend how quiet your horse is.

Agree with The Feathers, lovely place and staff more than happy to help, even when my horse had a ***** outside the main door
Maybe call up first. I've also been to the Anchor at Whittonstall & The Wellington in Newton just off A69. Just need quiet horses & go for it xx

No tie points, but were on a theme in the area, the Derwent Walk Inn, the Chelmsford Arms at Ebchester, and The Fox and Hounds at Coleburns are all happy to accomodate riders. The Derwent Walk does fab hand cut chips too.
