Horse gallops in cheshire

That's a very generous length for a gallop track! We use a few locally, what would attract me to it would be:
Good surface well maintained
Secure perimeter
Ease of booking, fitting in with other clients using it

Will it be flat or will you have an incline? Will it all be grass or will you have an artificial surface at all, sorry wasn't sure from how you worded it. If grass I would be put off if the ground was hard or if it was sticky/slippery going.
We pay between £12.50-£15 for the gallops near us, shorter distance but artificial surfaces well maintained.
Would be interested to hear more if you do go ahead though, have you considered putting any optional jumps around it?

thanks for the reply, the track would be all grass, topped to keep it down through the year(like to keep farm looking tidy as much as anything)
The perimeter would be a mixture of hedge, ditches, woods with very little barbed wire, would only do it on a pre booking, pre pay system to stop too many on at once.it is mainly flat ground and would start off without jumps to see how things went, would be ready if I go ahead end of July onwards after barley harvest,I would also have stubble fields available aswell to run on until they were sown in September, would be concerned though about people not sticking to the track once fields are sown with corn!

If I could I'd like to hire it to hack my 2 out off road ... You are literally round the corner from me by your description of your location

we usually go kelsall which apparently is only 7miles although seems much longer, its fab there, lots of varying terrain, optional jumps and is only £12 wkday £14 wkend so cheaper than somerford. we would definatly be interested in trying somewhere new if it was around the same price.

Knowing nothing about riding, would I be better keeping it for experienced riders only,ie would the horses take off a bit on open land, possibly a bit much for a novice?falling off etc

Hard to control who uses it, how would you define who was experienced enough? I would love to come though, sounds great and would be handy for me.

The insurance you would require may make it rather difficult. If anyone had an accident on your land (caused by hazards such as ground conditions, spooky things etc) then they could sue you. Insurance can be quite expensive. Normal household wouldn't suffice.
