I have decided to send my new horse back to her owner - i am very upset, as i thought she was a sweet uncomplicated little thing - but as usual the owners have not been entirely honest - she is weaving very badly, but the owner is doing the usual 'shes never done that before' It is a really bad weave that seems well established (leg going as well) and she does it continually even when the yard is quiet. Also she shifts her weight from foot to foot in a very anxious way continually whilst tied up outside the stable making tacking up very difficult. But worst of all she seems to rear in times of pressure or doing someting she doesnt like - so all in all she isnt the horse that the owners described. She is a really sweet little thing but i didnt sign up for a horse who needs a lot of work - they led me to believe she was very quiet and just a little green. i am sure with time and work will be lovely but the rearing relly worries me so it seems silly to carry on.
So she goes back on thursday - the novice owner is coming to gett her in the middle of our yards weekly SJ/Dressage show so poor horse will be even more stressed! it will be interesting to see how the owner reacts to tacking her up amidst all that coming and going - i expect she will say it is my fault she is stressed!!
I rode my lovley welsh pony this morning - she has been badly neglected by me whilst this has been going on (sharer looking after her) and she has stopped eating her hard feed - i am back now with her and she is eating again (boy do i feel guilty)
Had a fab ride on her this morning - its heartbreaking really as she is just the horse for me but i cant do long distance or dressage on her with her artritus. So feeling a little sorry for myself and a bit of a fool - i know i shouldnt complain people are going through much worse than me but yet again everything has gone wrong!
