Horse Hair Brushes

I've been looking at grooming kits and a lot of brushes say they're made of horse hair. Maybe I'm being dumb, but I presume they farm/kill the horses for the hair? It just seems a bit backwards to brush your beloved horse with hair from a dead horse. Maybe I'm completely wrong and they just clip the horses to get the hair rather than killing them? Can someone enlighten me please

Yes it the hair from dead horses .
Bodies that end with knacker men have stuff recycled .
The horses are not farmed to make brushes .
