Hi Everyone!!

I'm looking for a bit of advice and some tips if poss (I know I can count on the HHO'ers)...

Basically my horse's left shoulder is larger/stronger/more muscled than the right, because of this, it is also the case down his back as well. He is slightly more muscled over the left side of his back.

When schooling he does tend to push through his left shoulder quite a lot!!

So basically, I would like to try and even out his muscles and am looking for schooling or lunging exercises or tips to help with this.

Fortunately it doesn't seem to affect him too much as he hasn't ever gone lame (touch wood) and the physio says he not in pain or sore, but I would like to try and rectify it just in case!!

Anyhow, over the summer and due to lots of schooling etc, he has built up quite a bit and is looking more mature in his shape (he's 7), consequently his saddle now doesn't fit properly  Had the saddle fitter back on Tuesday and we widened his saddle, but it's still not right and not sitting properly so am now in the process of looking for another saddle!!

So on top of trying to develop him evenly, I also have to do this bare back!!

Thank you all for any advice or guidance you can give, cakes and pies for all!! :)

Dunno but if you work it out let me know. BH has an asymmetrically muscled backside. Vet and physio both happy with him but I can't level him out! I've tried and failed and now given up :p

**Asymmetrical!** That's the word I was looking for!! That's exactly what my physio said about my lad...

Fingers crossed some one on here will have some ideas... Keep watching this space!! :D

BH seems to manage fine (he's the brown one in my siggy) so I have just given up. I hope that one day he'll just have magically evened out! Seems unlikely but I'm an eternal optimist :)

Yeah, I must agree, it doesn't seem to bother him at all or hold him back, and my physio wasn't concerned, but it's making fitting a saddle (fitting a saddle well, that is) pretty difficult!!

I hope it won't cause problems in the future... but I'm a worry guts!! lol! :o

... BH is gorgeous in your siggy!!! :D Mine is on my profile pic!! (having a nap!!)

Longreining is good - my mare was very uneven and started longreining her and she's evened up. Now got her driving too - think doing the work with nothing on their back makes it easier for the muscle to even up

Thank you for your replies.

Should I work him more on one reign than the other to try to even him up? or continue to work him evenly? Or shall I just ignor the uneveness?

Thanks again :)
