Hi all

I’m new here :) I own a 5 year old ID gelding who was broken in 2 months ago.
We’ve been doing some hacking, schooling and ground work 4-5 times a week but it’s all come to a halt since last Tuesday as I’ve become really poorly with bronchitis secondary to other viral rubbish.

I’m a panicker and am worrying that 2 weeks off will set us back. He’s living out with his pony friend and having some downtime.

Please give me your experience - he’s a cheeky but sensible chap who I have owned since a 2.5 year old and done lots of groundwork with prior to breaking and I am missing him a lot as I’ve barely seen him as I simply can’t breath.

I hope the break will do him good but I’m driving myself slightly insane - or maybe that’s the amount of medication I am on 🤪

Relax & take your time to recover.
The old fashioned way with a young horse was always to spend some time teaching them something & then turn them away to think about it.
This will do him good.
