Has anyone had any experience of one of these? I'm very sceptical but open minded and would like opinions, no names necessary of course!

im very sceptical too and don't see myself as wafty tea leaf kind of person in the slightest. However...... i know someone who has used a couple of healers/ communicators (just as a last resort desperate measure in the first instance!) and i've met one myself. its most odd, but some of the stuff they come up with is hard to explain away, as in things they really couldn't know anything about! im still on the fence i think...:confused:

I'm quite sceptical about it. We can read our horses body language and know what they're thinking and, I think you know if your horse (or any animal for that matter) is happy or not.

I'm a bit vague on details, but I was told that there was a pony that refused to go over a certain bridge when it was out on a hack. A horse communicator person came out to 'talk' to the pony, and the pony told her that a little girl was hung off the same bridge quite a few years before. After a bit of research, an old newspaper was found with the sane story. Thing is, that's all very well and everything, but with modern technology being what it is, how do we know that the person hadnt done the sane research before and found something on google or the like?

I do find it interesting, but as I said, I'm sceptical!

I would have been suspicious of that bridge story too lol! The reason I ask is we've got a demo coming up at our yard from a supposedly very well respected 'healer' and I just wanted to get a take on what people thought before the demo. I can't honestly see how it can work, but I must admit I'm curious to see what she'll be able to say about my friend's youngster that she's known from birth and owned since 4 months.

There just never seems to be any definitve proof out there! Think I'm a bit too scientific!! :D

I'm sceptical of them and I had a more 'alternative' upbringing than most, where the paranormal was every day. :)

I went to see a demo by one. I think she was Canadian? It was a few years ago now. Anyway, she told me a load of nonsense about how my pony had a best friend that was a dog (nope), that he was having problems settling in the herd (nope) and that my missing cat had moved out to live elsewhere (found her little corpse in someone's shed a day later. :( ) If I was a more assertive person I would have outed her there and then. Unfortunately, I'm a shrinking violet when faced with a group of people.

I believe, that animal communication is the easiest skill to fake because animals can't talk. It's even easier than preying on the bereaved as many stage and TV 'psychics' do. I'm sure there is a few genuine ones out there but there are a great many tricksters that are cashing in on desperate people.

Thanks Scrunchie, that's exactly the kind of story I vaguely remembered hearing in the past. I'll just have to wait and see at the demo. Suffice to say we've picked the two most difficult to fudge about horses on the yard! I'll post about what happens afterwards!

If anyone has any positive experiences please share them! :)

Just as there are psychic's there are people that can communicate with animals but, just as there are charlatans with the former, so there are with the latter.

I have met people with a psychic gift but have yet to meet an animal communicator.

What the charlatans have in common is the ability to read the subtle body language of the people being read - with animals this is the owner that is being read not the animal.
A reaction such as a sight widening of the eyes when something is mentioned is enough to give a clue that the reader is on the right track and to continue along that route.

Having had many years experience with animals I know that they are very quick to catch up on our thoughts. Negative gives the horse a chance to refuse to do something. Positive and it is far more likely to conform.

Many times I have loaded a horse that was refusing to load because it was nervous. Time and positive thoughts of picturing it standing in the lorry or trailer works. On the other hand the horse that is just being stubborn will get the appropriate crack across the backside.

There is a 'bond' between rider thoughts and the horse. Try riding down a road and at a junction thinking of a place further down the road as a picture in your mind, in one or the other direction and letting the horse choose which way to go. Odds on that if you have a bond the horse will go in the direction you are thinking.

We had one in our area a few years ago so I had her meet Drummer. It didn't start very well, as she kept calling him a her then I said she is a gelding, to which she answered oh but very feminine. There is nothing feminine about him, I thought his name plaque of Drummer Boy would have given it away too! I don't really remember much else that was said tbh it was all a bit wishy washy and things that were said Weymouth could have probably said about any horse. I'm sure there are better out there. Good luck, will be fun and interesting.

I would agree completely with this.

Regarding 'guiding' a horse with your thoughts, I often find that if I use a more distracted thought process, thinking about something, but with a place in the back of my mind, then Harry will pick that up quicker.

We have had a couple of remote readings done, with different people, and found both of them informative and pretty accurate. I also know of a well respected 'no nonsense' local yard owner, who has a lifetimes experience with horses. She occasionally uses a lady from Devon (I don't know her name), that she describes as a true horse communicator.

I keep an open mind on the subject, while knowing full well that there are far more charlatans than genuine practitioners.

Me too.

Most geniuinely psychic people do not charge for their services or boast about it.

My hubby knows someone who used to work with one of the household name 'mediums' in a supermarket. He said that one day this 'medium' guy went into work and boasted about how easy it was to fake and how he was going to make a packet.

I went to see one of his shows before I heard this and thought he was phoney. He's very showmanlike, likes to change outfits throughout the 'performance'. And did the usual 'medium; tricks of asking if anyone could take a George or an Emily - common names that many people know. Mediums never seem to take messages from Abduls, Gretas or Pierres!!!

I have used 2 communicators in the past for my rescue Arab Mare. They did not know each other but both gave me the same details, which could be verified by someone else neither of them knew.

When I had further problems with the same mare I again contacted someone. She was clear in what she said and it helped the mare.

As for something that has happened that the healer/communicator can find out before coming or talking to the animal tehn yes I maybe a bit scaptical.

One of mine was done by a picture only not face to face. The other was face to face. The second one also told me that another one of my mares had lost a foal, again they knew nothing about the pony just that she was standing in the field.

Another thing the second one told me was (I went off to get my dog who had run up the field and when I came back) that the Arab mare had been in a lorry/trailer and there had been a death. She was in the trailer when my old pony had a heart attack and died. No one she knew could have told her that.

We had a lady round to see ours and I wouldn't say I was sceptical but I didn't think much would come out of it! But I was amazed at what she had to say, she was incredible and the things that she told us couldn't have been guessed or found out. She didn't want us to tell her anything about the horses, not even their names, so that we knew she wouldn't be making things up. She arrived when I was inside and the first thing she said the horse had "told" her was that they wouldn't start until I had turned up, and they used my name - she apparently turned round and was like "...who?!" as she hadn't been told there was anyone else attending.
She went into SUCH incredible detail about the two horses we had done, simply could not have made it up. It wasn't vague in the slightest, and she did it with her back turned to us so that she couldn't pick up on our body language, and looked more towards the ground/horses side than it's face so that she wouldn't pick up on anything from it's expression - which was odd as the whole time she was "listening" to the horses, they were both in a kind of trance, never seen them so focused! She told me about my boys past in huge detail - I'd known a bit of it as I'd contacted his past owners but she filled the gaps for me and it's helped me so much with him - and what she said matched up with what i'd found out. She picked up on some pain he had in his shoulder & hip without even touching the areas or seeing him move, which the vets had previously missed but when we asked them to double check him the next visit paying special attention to the areas they noticed it (though we did sound a bit nuts asking). She explained what they wanted us to do to help them move forwards in work, I did it and it's helped no end.
I could go on forever and in more detail but i'll leave it at that!
Although I'm sure there are a lot of fakes out there or people who are good at guesswork and out to get money, I'm convinced that she is truly gifted and i'm more than happy to give her name if any one wants it, she helped me so much and I'd love to get her round again sometime.

I'm open minded enough to believe anything is possible.
Like anything though I'm sure there are people who are cowboys so I would only use one that comes with good recommendation.

To my shame I was daft enough to use one of these people. She wanted to know the horse's name, sex and age before she did the phone "reading". Hubby did the actual call and I listened in on the other line and wrote down all that she said. Total crap .. everything she said could have applied to any mare. These people know that you call them when you have run out of other options with a problem and they feed on that, using your questions and comments to draw you further in.

DONT DO IT!!

i used to count myself as a total sceptic but someone i vaguely know was doing some to raise money for a charity i support, so i thought where is the harm.
I got the reading earlier this week and its very accurate. I have know my horse since he was 4 and he's now 22 and it was just amazing. I also showed the reading to a friend who used to own my horse and she found it spooky as well lol

I will second that she is brilliant and a lovely person too :)

I will third this then! Whether you believe it or not ( I was a total sceptic), one phone call with her told me so much and gave me the confidence to carry on. After 2 years and thousands of pounds spent with pro trainers and vets, the £40 odd hour long phone was the best money I spent!

All I can say is it worked for us.

Going from communicators to healers. A friend of mine was given an old horse, he was very difficult to get weight on and, being a grey he had plenty of lumps and bumps and not just under his tail.
Clipping this horse was a nightmare as he was always so ticklish and boney. When he was ridden friend always had an exercise rug on him. Nothing seemed to help this horse gain weight.

One day as friend returned from leading this horse out a woman who was visiting friends mother, remarked that the horse was really poorly. Friend was defensive but was open minded enough to allow said woman to lay her hands on the horse.
I went to clip him again a month or so later and was astounded at how well the old boy looked. He was no longer ribby and was far happier in himself.

It took some persuasion on my part to find out that this healer had been treating him twice a week.

The visits dropped off but continued for the next two years. The horse looked well. Then after he had had a month out at grass away from friends house he came back into work and started to loose weight so healer was called. The horse would not let her in the stable.
Friend had him dropped by the hunt the next day, and he had all sorts of nasty growths inside him.

Same friend spilt a chip pan of boiling fat down her leg. Serious burns that would not heal and Drs wanted to skin graft. She called the healer who just held her hands a couple of inches above the injury. Friend said it was as if someone was holding something hot above her leg but it wasn't painful. After there was a of of tingling. In two weeks the wound had all but closed and after a month it was healed right over. Drs were astounded.

Wow, thanks for all the replies! I've not been able to log on for a few days, but am really grateful for all the answers.

The communicator/healer is coming to us to do a free demo, but I've heard that official visits are in excess of £60! Scary stuff. Think I'll have to be very firmly convinced before I shell out that kind of cash!

Demo is Saturday so I shall post after theat and let everyone know how it went. Thanks again for all the replies. :)
